Pigment Correction Microneedling with LUCENTE®

Pigmentation is rarely as simple as treating a dark spot—melanin production can be influenced by sun exposure, inflammation, hormones, skin injury, and individual biology, which is why stubborn pigmentation often requires a more thoughtful approach. Pigment Correction Microneedling pairs controlled microneedling with the LUCENTE® professional brightening system, developed for concerns including melasma and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH). At Adorn, pigmentation is never one-size-fits-all: skin tone, the type and history of pigmentation, inflammation, sun exposure, current products, and potential triggers are all considered before determining whether this treatment is appropriate.

What this treatment is

A consultation is required before this treatment. It's part of how we protect both your results and your skin.

The Science & Soul

How it works

During the in-clinic portion, microneedling creates controlled microchannels in the skin while the provider-selected LUCENTE® solution is incorporated according to the professional protocol, initiating the skin's natural remodeling response. The official LUCENTE® system also includes a complementary home-care cream designed to support the pigment-focused program between treatments. The LUCENTE® formulation is designed to target multiple pathways involved in the appearance and formation of excess pigmentation while supporting a brighter, more even-looking complexion—rather than aggressively attempting to permanently destroy pigment-producing cells.

Why Adorn Offers It

Pigmentation often needs more than aggressive exfoliation. Adorn chose LUCENTE® because its professional protocol was developed specifically around persistent pigmentation concerns and pairs naturally with a thoughtful microneedling plan. The goal isn't simply to make the skin peel more—it's to approach pigmentation carefully while supporting overall skin quality and long-term management.

Evidence & Research

Research specifically evaluating the branded LUCENTE® system is limited. However, microneedling combined with topical depigmenting therapies has been studied for melasma and other pigmentation concerns. We're transparent about the difference between research on a treatment approach and research on a specific commercial formulation.

Good Candidates

Is this right for your skin?

Concerns It May Help

  • Melasma
  • Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH)
  • Uneven pigmentation
  • Dark spots
  • Discoloration following inflammation or breakouts
  • Uneven-looking skin tone
  • Overall skin clarity

Ideal Candidates

Clients with stubborn uneven pigmentation—such as melasma or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation—whose skin is appropriate for a pigment-focused microneedling program and who can commit to sun protection and home-care consistency.

When It May Not Be Appropriate

Active infections, significant irritation, certain skin conditions, medications, and pregnancy or breastfeeding considerations may affect suitability. Melasma is chronic and complex; no treatment should be presented as a permanent cure. A professional evaluation is required.

The Experience

What happens at your appointment

Your skin is evaluated and treatment suitability is confirmed before any treatment begins. The skin is professionally prepared, and numbing may be used according to Adorn's microneedling protocol. Controlled microneedling is then performed and the professional LUCENTE® solution is incorporated according to protocol. Post-treatment care is reviewed, and home-care instructions are provided when part of your program.

Preparation

Preparation is individualized. Certain active skincare products, recent treatments, or sun exposure may affect timing. Adorn will provide your specific preparation instructions—please don't follow a generic pre-treatment routine.

Aftercare

Follow Adorn's post-treatment instructions. Consistent broad-spectrum sun protection is particularly important when managing pigmentation; for melasma-prone clients, your provider may also address visible-light protection when appropriate.

Recovery

Downtime & results

Downtime

Because this treatment includes microneedling, temporary redness, warmth, tightness, sensitivity, dryness, or mild flaking may occur as the skin recovers. Individual downtime varies according to skin response and treatment intensity.

Recovery

Hydrate, protect, and follow the post-treatment plan provided. Avoid introducing strong active exfoliants until your provider clears you to resume them.

When Results Appear

Pigmentation correction is a process, not an overnight result. Some clients begin noticing improved clarity and a more even-looking complexion as treatment progresses, but timing varies with the type and severity of pigmentation, contributing factors, home-care consistency, and individual skin response. Melasma and recurrent pigmentation often require ongoing management rather than a one-time treatment.

Series & Maintenance

Treatment planning depends on the severity and type of pigmentation, your individual response, and the LUCENTE® protocol selected for you. Sun protection and consistent home care are essential, as pigment can recur—especially in melasma-prone skin.
