Corrective Renewal

Corrective Renewal is Adorn's more intensive resurfacing peel for clients ready to move beyond lighter exfoliation. It features the SkinCeuticals Smart TCA Peel—a professional formulation combining 15% trichloroacetic acid (TCA) with 3% glycolic acid—followed by SkinCeuticals' Post-Peel Restorative Masque to support comfort immediately after treatment. Because Corrective Renewal is a stronger resurfacing treatment than Adorn's lighter options, candidacy, preparation, recovery, and home care all matter. Treatment is selected intentionally based on your skin—not simply because a stronger peel sounds better.

Overview

What this treatment is

Corrective Renewal is Adorn's more intensive resurfacing peel for clients ready to move beyond lighter exfoliation. It features the SkinCeuticals Smart TCA Peel—a professional formulation combining 15% trichloroacetic acid (TCA) with 3% glycolic acid—followed by SkinCeuticals' Post-Peel Restorative Masque to support comfort immediately after treatment. Treatment is selected intentionally based on your skin—not simply because a stronger peel sounds better.

A consultation is required before this treatment. It's part of how we protect both your results and your skin.

The Science & Soul

How it works

TCA creates controlled chemical exfoliation by coagulating proteins within treated layers of the skin, allowing damaged surface cells to shed as the skin renews. The 3% glycolic acid component provides additional keratolytic exfoliation and supports penetration of the TCA formulation. After the peel, SkinCeuticals' Post-Peel Restorative Masque is applied to support hydration and post-treatment comfort.

Why Adorn Offers It

More intensive doesn't mean rushed. Adorn prepares your skin, sets honest expectations, and guides recovery so a stronger treatment is done safely and well. The strongest treatment is not automatically the best treatment—we choose exfoliation based on what will safely and effectively support your skin and goals.

Evidence & Research

SkinCeuticals identifies uneven tone, mild-to-moderate sun damage, textural irregularities, fine lines, and wrinkles among the concerns the Smart TCA Peel is designed to address. The studies linked below evaluate TCA peeling and the specific 15% TCA + 3% glycolic acid formulation rather than marketing claims—read product-specific data in context.

Good Candidates

Is this right for your skin?

Concerns It May Help

  • Stubborn discoloration
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Mild-to-moderate visible sun damage
  • Textural irregularities
  • Fine lines
  • Signs of photoaging
  • Dull or rough-looking skin
  • Overall tone and texture

Ideal Candidates

Clients appropriate for intensive resurfacing whose skin is prepared and who can follow the recovery plan. Candidacy depends on skin type, condition, treatment history, current products, medications, and tendency toward pigmentation.

When It May Not Be Appropriate

Active infections, recent sun exposure, certain prescription skincare, pregnancy, sensitive or compromised skin, tendency toward post-inflammatory pigmentation, and those unable to follow the recovery plan may not be suitable. A professional evaluation is required.

The Experience

What happens at your appointment

Before treatment, your skin is evaluated to confirm Corrective Renewal is appropriate. During treatment, the skin is cleansed and prepared, the Smart TCA Peel is professionally applied according to protocol, your skin's response is monitored, and the Post-Peel Restorative Masque is applied. Home-care instructions are reviewed before you leave. Afterward, expect a healing period and follow Adorn's post-peel instructions closely.

Preparation

Preparation is more involved than with lighter peels. Certain active skincare, recent treatments, irritation, medications, or medical conditions may affect timing. Adorn will provide individualized preparation instructions—please don't follow a generic "stop retinol exactly X days before" rule unless confirmed by Adorn.

Aftercare

Do not pick or manually remove peeling skin. Keep skin appropriately moisturized, use gentle provider-approved skincare, use daily broad-spectrum sunscreen, and avoid introducing strong exfoliating actives until cleared. Follow all Adorn-specific post-peel instructions.

Recovery

Downtime & results

Downtime

SkinCeuticals lists approximately 3–7 days of average downtime for the Smart TCA Peel. Tightness, dryness, redness, darkening of treated surface pigmentation before shedding, flaking, and visible peeling may occur. Individual response varies—please don't expect a specific amount of peeling.

Recovery

Allow skin to shed naturally—do not pick or manually remove peeling skin. Keep skin appropriately moisturized and limit heat, sweating, and friction during early recovery as directed.

When Results Appear

Results develop as the skin renews over the days and weeks following treatment. Some goals benefit from a professionally planned series, while others use Corrective Renewal periodically.

Series & Maintenance

Some treatment goals may benefit from a professionally planned series, while others may use Corrective Renewal periodically. Recommendations are individualized. Sun protection and a supportive home routine are essential to maintain results.
